Indian information-analytical portal Sarkaritel and Diplomacyindia published an article under the title "Prospects of development of national journalism: theory and international practice", devoted to the results of the homonymous international conference in Tashkent.

As noted in the material, relevant ministries, agencies and organizations of Uzbekistan with the participation of senators and deputies of the Oliy Majlis, media executives, representatives of international and non-governmental organizations, foreign experts and teachers of schools of journalism became organizers of the event.

The publication reported that foreign participants noted the special attention paid to ensuring the freedom of press and information, the progress in the activities of country’s media.

The Constitution provides for freedom of media, and consequently everyone has the right to seek, receive and disseminate information. Laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On mass media", "On guarantees and freedom of access to information", "On principles and guarantees of freedom of information", "On Information" reflect these standards.

Referring to the participants’ speeches, the Indian electronic media bring relevant data that today non-state media make up about 60% of print media in Uzbekistan, 67% of TV and radio channels, 95% of Internet publications. The development of Internet journalism further extends the reach and enriching the content of the national information space.

Indian mass media quoted the creative director of a media studio "Houpla" (USA), Michael Brassert:

— The media in Uzbekistan have their place in the international media space. Creating the conditions for a free and fruitful activity of journalists in your country, their full support is an important factor in the development of media sphere as a whole. Today’s conference gave an opportunity to get acquainted with the trends and innovations in the development of journalism in Uzbekistan and the world, to exchange views and experiences.

Finally, the material stresses that within the forum they exchanged views on further development of the media, to improve the training of journalists and international level advanced training. The material paid particular attention extensive work on introduction of television and radio studios of modern information and communication technologies and the relevant international experience.
