The Head coach of the national football team of Uzbekistan Mirjalol Kasymov commented on the results of the draw of the 2nd qualifying round of the joined World Cup 2018 and the Asian Cup 2019.
Recall that by the end of the draw national team of Uzbekistan will play in group "H" against teams of Bahrain, Philippines DPRK, and Yemen, reports IA UzReport.
"I was satisfied from the draw. We got a pretty decent group and therefore, we will see some interesting matches. Our main goal is to take the 1st place in the group and continue the fight for the qualification to the World Cup. Given that we are the favorites of the group, I think we can cope with this task. We will respond seriously to every match to become the first, and try not to depend on the results of our rivals, as sometimes happens in football," said Mirjalol Kasimov.
"If we talk about each opponent individually, I can point out the following: Bahrain is a strong team and we know them very well. We know the potential of this team and how they will play because we have experience of playing against this team several times. North Korea also the team we have met repeatedly. Playing against this team is not always easy, but we can defeat them, we have proved it in the last Asian Cup in Australia. Well, about the Philippines and Yemen I can’ t say anything, as we’ve never met with Philippines, and with Yemen’s we played just twice in the 90-ies", - added the head coach.
"The first match is always not so easy. But, it is very important to start any tournament with a victory. We have a good team consisting of talented players. I think we have everything to earn the first 3 points in the match against a team of North Korea ", - concluded Kasymov.
