MOSCOW ART THEATRE IN TASHKENT

The Anton Chekhov Moscow Art Theatre’s guest performance at the state academic Russian drama theatre of Uzbekistan in Tashkent started with a play entitled “Home”.

In the process of carrying out noble work to develop the culture and art sphere special attention is paid to strengthening international cultural enlightenment and artistic ties. This found expression in the further development of relations between Uzbekistan and Russia in the political, cultural and social-humanitarian spheres. An important basis for this is agreements reached at meetings between the two states’ leaders.

Uzbekistan’s Days that took place in Moscow recently, including concerts, music evenings, art conferences and exhibitions clearly showed there are great respect for and interest in our country’s multi faceted and unique arts.
At the same time, Russian artists and photographers regularly participate in international exhibitions arranged in this country.

Cooperation in the sphere of art is being strengthened in such areas as opera and ballet, theatre and music. Russian art figures regularly participate in various artistic projects, festivals and concerts held at the Alisher Navoi state academic grand theatre of Uzbekistan. Last year, at the state academic Russian drama theatre of Uzbekistan a play entitled “Truth is good, but happiness is better” was performed quite successfully by the Russian state academic Malyy theatre.

The Moscow Art Theatre is a well-known artistic group.

“We are very glad that we have come to Tashkent. Your city is famous for its ancient traditions of theatrical art,” says Igor Zolotovitskiy, deputy artistic director of the theatre.

During the artistic tour, plays entitled “Home” and "Scales"will be presented to spectators.
