MOVING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION

179 elevators in high-rise buildings in Tashkent are expected to be replaced this year.

In the framework of a target program, over one thousand new elevators will be installed in the capital by the end of 2021.

“Last year we completed installation works and installed 186 elevators, 114 of them have already been put into operation, and 72 elevators undergo preparation for launch. In the current year, 179 modern elevators will be installed,” said Oybek Bekmirzayev, Deputy Head of Territorial Household and Operational Association of the Tashkent municipality.

Today, over 4,800 elevators in the capital’s high-rise buildings are maintained by 39 specialized enterprises, as well as by private homeowners’ associations.
