Soon, X International Music Festival "Sharq taronalari" will be held in Samarkand, which will bring together participants from more than fifty countries.
All of them with a sense of excitement and inspiration of waiting and preparing for this solemn event. Among them are the representatives of Belgium and the Netherlands, to whom correspondent of Information Agency "Jahon" in these countries has talked.
Hilde Fratuer, soloist of Belgian musical group Trio HoP:
— I think that "Sharq taronalari" - is a music forum which promotes the development of cultural relations, the strengthening of the bonds of peace and friendship between peoples.
It was nice to see that this year’s "Sharq taronalari" is held for the tenth time and attended by more than 50 artists from a variety of countries. It is a good initiative that gathers together people of different nationalities, allows musicians and performers to demonstrate their skills and talents to make a musical, folk numbers to share their experience and culture.
Undoubtedly, the organization of this kind of festival in Uzbekistan is commendable. It reflects the state policy in the field of culture and shows how much attention is paid to the maintenance, preservation and development of their distinctive culture and national traditions, folklore and music. It also shows openness to conduct intercultural dialogue and commitment to strengthen it.
I would like to note that in the world there are many international competitions of music, art and culture, but the festival "Sharq taronalari" is one of the most prestigious of them. The format of the competition allows you to show the national music and performing traditions of the countries and peoples of the world. The fact of holding it in the ancient city of Samarkand on the famous "Registan" square makes this festival unique.
We are very pleased that we are honored to be participants of the jubilee X International Music Festival "Sharq taronalari".
I take this opportunity to wish good luck, inspiration and success to all the musicians. Let "Sharq taronalari" bring together all the creative people, uniting them through art.
Laurens van der Zee, director of Dutch folklore group Folkcorn:
— For more than 20 years, our group participates in various competitions held around the world. It is a great honor to perform at the International Music Festival "Sharq taronalari" with an interesting program in the style of Dutch traditions. We hope that everyone will enjoy our performance.
International competitions of this level are always interesting because there is the opportunity to see a large number of creative teams from different countries at the same time, to get acquainted with their creativity, share views and even to enrich own repertoire.
Participation of renowned musicians in this festival, composers and artists of folk art suggests that the interest in it increases every year. We also hope to represent the history, culture and traditions of the Dutch people with dignity.
Organization and holding of the International Festival "Sharq taronalari" in the historic capital of the East - Samarkand further increases the creative effect of music, motivates artists to demonstrate all their skills and talent.
We have heard much about Uzbekistan, amazing historic cities of Samarkand, Khiva and Bukhara, with their abundance of beautiful architectural and historical monuments - the jewels of medieval architecture, the unique nature and fauna, unique ancient culture, rich traditions and customs of the Uzbek people.
Let me welcome wholeheartedly all the participants of the festival, and to thank Uzbekistan for its organization. I hope that the tradition of the meeting will go on for many years.
