“MY CONTRIBUTION TO INDEPENDENCE”

The Republican stage of the Uzbekistan Liberal Democratic Party’s (UzLiDeP) contest “Business student” under the motto “My contribution to independence” was held in Navoi.

A youth forum was organized prior to beginning of the creative competition at which the talk was about reforms being carried out in our country on the creation of favorable business environment and development of businesses.

It was emphasized at its opening ceremony that our country displays particular care about the youth; new higher educational institutions, lyceums, colleges, and gyms were set up and built for them, and conditions were created for bringing up a harmoniously developed generation. This is evidenced also by the “Business student” project initiated by the Party and held since the year 2004.

About 150 thousand youths and girls have taken part in it since its establishment, 280 of them became winners of the UzLiDeP’s special scholarships. 15 thousand participants in this project started out their own businesses or became farmers; they created 45 thousand new jobs.

This year’s contest covered all the regions of the country, more than 10 thousand students had taken part at the district, municipal and regional stages; 42 of them broke through the Republican stage of the contest.

The exhibition of products made by the contestants was organized within the framework of the competition. The youths and girls presented their handicrafts, sewing and confectionary items, innovative projects, books and drawings, which were then assessed by the jury members. The participants had not only shared their experiences and knowledge, but also advanced proposals and suggestions for the implementation of innovative projects into the real sector of economy. The competition provided the young people with an opportunity to expand their knowledge on production, individual entrepreneurship, create new jobs, and get access to financial services.

“I presented to the context my business project in national embroidery,” said participant from Jizzah Maftuna Raimqulova. “I have learned this craft from my Mom and have been doing this job all on my own for the last five years and also teach my girlfriends. I cherish a dream to expand my business and create new work places.”

“I feel proud to continue the traditions of our grandmothers,” says one of the winners, student of the Navoi College of culture and arts Sayora Ziyodullayeva. “The Nurota embroidery styles “bodom”, “qalampir”, and “anor” are among our national values. Having graduated from the college I wish to open an embroidery circle and teach young girls my craft. The awarding of a special prize to me motivates me to work even more actively in this direction.”

The event participants visited advanced production enterprises and farms of the region; they acquainted themselves with the activities of young entrepreneurs who won prizes at the last year “Business student” contest.

The Farkhod Palace of Culture in Navoi hosted the prize-awarding ceremony. Songs about Motherland and independence resounded in the hall. Those gathered enjoyed the celebratory program presented to the audience.
