NAEMM HOLDS MEDIA DAYS

The National Association of Electronic Mass Media (NAEMM), its national and international partners, in anticipation of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan are conducting media days, which last fr om 9 to 18 August. A number of major media projects are underway within these days in the cities of Samarkand, Tashkent and Fergana valley. The heads and representatives of international organizations, foreign embassies, international experts fr om Germany, France, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Latvia, Russia, etc., state and public figures, representatives of metropolitan and regional broadcastings - managers, journalists, editors and operators are attending the events held within media days.

Samarkand – the pearl of the Orient - the heart of the Great Silk Road, will turn to a place for hosting several events – a summer media camp for creative and technical workers of non-governmental broadcasters, various presentations, round tables, discussions, debates and seminars.

On August 16, the city of Samarkand will host the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the first non-state TV channel of Uzbekistan - "Samarkand-STV".

Another significant event of the day will be an international seminar on the theme: "enhancing the role of non-state electronic media in democratization and modernization: experience of Uzbekistan", which will serve as a platform to familiarize the wider international community with experience in the development of the domestic non-state electronic mass-media, making recommendations and suggestions for further promising directions of development of private electronic media in Uzbekistan.

After these events, the members and guests will move to Tashkent.

A traditional media festival "Ozod Yurt tulkinlari" (Waves of a free country") promises to be a crown of capital events. It will be bring together managers, editors and creative workers of television and radio stations, representatives of the state, public and international organizations, diplomatic missions, accredited in Uzbekistan.

The festival will be held in the format of the competition, wh ere the competent jury by open vote, in real-time will determine the best of the best creative and technical staff of non-governmental broadcasters, who are making a worthy contribution to the development of national journalism.

The end of the festival will include an awarding ceremony of winners, a gala evening in honor of the guests and participants of the festival, as well as the presentation of the new media complex and modern stage pavilions of the non-state youth TV and radio company "Echo of valley" ("Vodiy sadosi") / TV Channel "Zur TV" (Tashkent). The guests will have an opportunity to enjoy colorful performances of creative groups and pop stars, enchanting dance performances, all of these will help guests to feel the atmosphere of the media festival.

August media days of the Association will end in the Ferghana valley, wh ere on August 18, members and guests - national and international experts, heads and representatives of the private broadcasters of the country, as well as state and public figures will become witnesses and participants of the opening ceremony of the new building of “Margilon TV”, operating under “Ruhsor” TRC.
