IV National library and information week “Infolib-2015” started at the Alisher Navoi National Library of Uzbekistan.
It was organized by the Alisher Navoi National Library of Uzbekistan in cooperation with Ministry of Development of Information Technologies and Communications, Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education, Center of secondary special and vocational education, Ministry of Public Education, Ministry of Health, Uzbek Agency for Press and Information.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of various ministries and agencies, teachers, students, library professionals.
Director of the Alister Navoi National Library of Uzbekistan A.Khodjaev, director of the Fundamental Library of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan Z.Berdieva and others noted that over 30 cultural, educational, scientific and educational events that will take place within a week, will help increase the level of information culture of the youth, preservation of the cultural and creative heritage of our great ancestors, further promotion of reading, development and introduction of modern innovative and educational technologies in library and information science.
Days of art, foreign languages, cultural diversity, as well as various competitions, meetings, round-table discussions, awareness campaigns and workshops, exhibitions, presentations, film screenings will take place within the framework of «Infolib-2015". The events will be attended by famous writers and poets, artists, actors, representatives of public organizations.
In particular, “Betger readings” round table discussion on the role of information and library institutions in the formation of information and media culture has been held on the first day of the National Library and Information Week.
Presentation of translation of Alisher Navoi’s “Five wonders” by Aziz Kayumov and Dinara Azimova, photo exhibition on silent films in Central Asia, and film screening on “Muqaddima” project of Nigora Karimova has also taken place on the first day.
