National library of Uzbekistan hosts the international conference Central Asia-2015

The 9th International Conference Central Asia - 2015 "Information-library resources in science, education, culture and business" has started in the National Library of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi. It is attended by heads of national libraries of foreign countries, scientists in the field of information and library science, modern legislation, writers, literary critics, as well as publishers and journalists, reports IA UzReport.

The main objective of the conference is the revitalization of information and library institutions, educational institutions, archives, museums and other organizations for effective and efficient cooperation in the development and use of electronic information resources in science, education, culture and business. The event will review the role and significance of information-library activities in the development of science, culture and education, the interaction of information and library institutions with publishing houses, archives and museums, as well as building a culture of reading, information culture and media literacy in users of information-library facilities.

Exchange of views between the participants allowed to identify and develop new ways of information-library activities, as well as to define the role of libraries in the formation of the intellectual space in the socio-cultural environment. The conference will last until April 24.
