On October 19, the main events within the framework of the state visit of the President of the Russian Federation began at Kuksaroy residence.

After the official welcoming ceremony, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Vladimir Putin held negotiations in a narrow format.

The President of Uzbekistan, warmly welcoming the distinguished guest, noted that relations between Uzbekistan and Russia over the past two years have further strengthened.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed sincere appreciation for establishment and solemn opening of the monument to the First President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov in Moscow.

“Russia is a strategic partner of Uzbekistan. Our partnership has reached a qualitatively new level and is dynamically developing in all areas by joint efforts. More than eighty high-level visits were conducted last year. We have established close cooperation between the regions. For the first time, Tashkent hosts Interregional Cooperation Forum between the two countries. More than a thousand representatives of Russia’s entities, public and business representatives are attending the event. The trade turnover has grown by thirty percent since the beginning of the year. Large investment projects are being implemented”, said the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

“And this is only a number of examples of the breakthrough that has been achieved recently. I am confident that your state visit will give a powerful impetus to relations between Uzbekistan and Russia”, emphasized Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
