NEW EDITION OF THE CONSTITUTION

The adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan on December 8, 1992 was an important historical event in our country.

In the years of independent development, the Constitution serves as a solid foundation of establishment of a democratic state and a strong civil society, the development of an economy based on free market relations and the priority of private property, ensuring a peaceful and prosperous life for people, and taking by Uzbekistan of a worthy place in the world community.

Our Basic Law, which fully meets the requirements of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other main international documents, guarantees personal rights and freedoms, human and civil political, economic and social rights, provides necessary conditions for spiritual improvement and comprehensive harmonious development.

Over the past period, a national legislative system based on the principles and rules enshrined in the Constitution, has been formed. The Basic Law became the basis for increasing the socio-economic, political and military potential of our country, effective reforms carried out in all spheres of life.

The unlimited importance and role of the Constitution in enhancing the legal consciousness and culture of citizens, their political activity should be emphasized.

The principle of the rule of law, enshrined in the Constitution, is an important guarantor of ensuring human rights and freedoms in society, effective implementation of reforms.

More than 400 laws adopted over the past time, together with the legal ordering of all spheres of life, serve to ensuring the human rights and interests.

The decree of the Head of our state Shavkat Mirziyoyev “On measures of preparing and celebrating the twenty-fifth anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan” of June 20, 2017 became evidence of much attention to the Basic Law and the beginning of a new stage in its deep study and propaganda.

The new edition of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, implemented by PPCH “Uzbekistan”, became a worthy gift to the 25th anniversary of our Basic Law.

The new edition of the Constitution reflects amendments and additions introduced to the Basic Law in recent years.

The book is published in thousands of copies in Uzbek, Karakalpak, Russian and English.
