NEW RAILWAY LINE "NAVOI-KANIMEKH-MISKEN"

Joint Stock Company "Uzbekistan Railways" in 2016-2017 plans to construct a new railway line "Navoi-Kanimekh-Misken" with length of 396.9 km, according to the JSC "Uzbekistan Railways".

This road is created for a more complete and efficient development potential of Bukhara, Khorezm and Navoi regions and Karakalpakstan.

The project to build a new highway will be implemented in two phases. The first covers the period of 2016-2017. During this period the site will be built for the movement of trains on electrified. The cost of its implementation will be 283.1 million USD, and will be funded from internal sources.

The second stage is planned elctrification of area with further region’s energy supply as a result of resource development mining arrays Kuldjuktau and Auminzatau in Kyzylkum.

This area connects to the railway line "Navoi-Uchkuduk-Sultanuizdag-Nukus" at the station "Misken". According to experts, it will intensify the flow of goods from Uzbekistan to the north.

Our reference: The total length of railways in Uzbekistan is 4200 km. They account for about 60% of cargo within the country and almost 80% of the total volume of export and import cargo.
