On March 7, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the presentation of the upcoming work on construction and landscaping in the city of Tashkent.

As is known, in 2025 Tashkent will host the Asian Youth Games. Many athletes and coaches, fans and journalists from all over the continent will attend the competition. It is planned to build an Olympic Village in Yashnabad district of the city of Tashkent to hold this prestigious event at a high level. The project of the facility was developed by the British engineering company Arup.

According to the project, an Olympic Stadium will be built in the center of the village, around it – indoor sports complexes, a water sports palace, training grounds, a rowing canal. All conditions will comply with the requirements of the Olympic Council of Asia and international sports federations. An administrative building, a hostel, a museum and economic facilities will also be erected.

The village will also serve as a training base. The Institute of Higher Sports Excellence, sports federations and other institutions in sports will begin their activities here.

Another area of work is the creation of a green walking area along New Uzbekistan Street leading to the Olympic Village. It will have conditions for recreation and sports.

The Head of the state inquired about the cost of the project, the conditions that will be created for visitors. Responsible persons were instructed to calculate the amount of work and financial resources by year, draw up a clear plan, and announce a tender for construction.

At the previous meeting on the implementation of the nationwide project “Yashil Zamin” (Green Space), the President noted the expediency of planting flowering and deciduous trees along roadsides. At today’s presentation, the corresponding plans were considered.

For this, 21 streets of Tashkent were selected, including the Small Ring Road, Mustaqillik, Navoi, Islam Karimov, Afrosiyob, Shakhrisabz, Oybek, Babur. It is planned to plant seedlings of decorative trees, such as chestnut, lilac, ash-tree, tulip tree, maple, linden.
