On November 27, 2017, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the former head of the Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Atambayev.
The President of Uzbekistan expressed deep gratitude for awarding him with high state award of the Kyrgyz Republic – the Order of “Danaker”. It was noted that this is a recognition of the great success achieved in development of relations of friendship and good-neighborliness, fruitful cooperation between the two fraternal countries and people.
It was emphasized that the outgoing year was extremely important in providing a new level of interaction, which allowed to achieve great results in solving many accumulated, including very complex issues.
It was noted with deep satisfaction that recent state visits to Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan gave a powerful impetus to activation of bilateral relations, contributed to a significant increase in trade turnover between our countries, intensifying exchange of visits at various levels.
The historical significance of signing the Agreement on Uzbek – Kyrgyz state border was emphasized.
At the end of the conversation, the importance of maintaining continuity in foreign policy of bоth countries was noted.
