On telephone conversation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan

On October 11, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.

During the conversation, the heads of states discussed the current state and prospects of multifaceted bilateral cooperation in the context of agreements reached earlier at the highest level.

Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan Presidents noted with satisfaction the steady growth in trade turnover, expansion of its nomenclature. Special attention was paid to the effective use of the potential of interregional cooperation.

The mutual interest was confirmed in development of business cooperation in specific projects in industry, energy, transport and communications, agriculture and other spheres.

Importance of continuing active cooperation in the sphere of cultural-humanitarian exchanges, education, healthcare and tourism was noted, which will further strengthen the traditionally friendly relations between the two countries and people.

Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan also exchanged views on a number of current issues of international and regional agenda.

The parties stated a commonality of approaches to the most important problems, including ensuring regional security and effective counteraction against contemporary challenges and threats.

Presidents reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening Uzbekistan – Kazakhstan friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership.
