ON TELEPHONE CONVERSATION OF THE PRESIDENT OF UZBEKISTAN WITH THE PRESIDENT OF RUSSIA

On March 19, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

The Head of the state sincerely congratulated Vladimir Putin on a confident victory in the elections for the President of the Russian Federation, held on March 18.

It was emphasized that the results of the vote again demonstrated the enormous confidence and colossal support of Russia’s people for the consistent policy pursued by the President of Russia, which is aimed at consolidating the society, improving the quality of life of the population, modernizing the economy, infrastructure and public administration, firmly defending the sovereignty and interests of the state, strengthening the country’s role as a key world power.

Positive dynamics in development of friendship, strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia have been noted with deep satisfaction.

It was emphasized that the high-level visit to Russia in April 2017, as well as intensive contacts of the sides, contributed to further expansion of mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation, gave it a qualitatively new, practical content.

Concrete results in trade and economic, investment, banking-financial, transport-communication, cultural, humanitarian and many other spheres have been achieved by joint efforts.

The volume of trade is growing, large investment projects are being implemented in various sectors of the economy. Interaction at the business level and between the regions of the two countries has been intensified.

Tourism and cultural exchanges are expanding, joint programs in the sphere of education and healthcare are being implemented.

The leaders of Uzbekistan and Russia exchanged views on issues of further expanding the bilateral partnership, as well as discussed a number of current issues of regional and international policy.

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev invited the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to pay a state visit to Uzbekistan.

The President of Russia expressed sincere gratitude for the warm congratulations and wishes, as well as accepted with gratitude the invitation to visit Uzbekistan.
