On October 19, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev at the initiative of the Kyrgyz side.
The Head of our state, at the beginning of the conversation, sincerely congratulated President Almazbek Atambayev and the fraternal people of Kyrgyzstan on successful conduction of the presidential elections on October 15, 2017.
It was especially noted that the results of the nationwide elections testify to the high confidence and wide support by the country’s population of the course of reforms in Kyrgyzstan.
The leaders of the two countries discussed actual issues of bilateral cooperation in the light of implementation of the reached agreements and signed contracts during recent mutual visits at the highest level, in a traditionally friendly and constructive atmosphere.
Mutual interest in speedy completion of the legal registration and signing of relevant agreement on remaining areas of Uzbekistan – Kyrgyzstan State border, as well as ensuring effective functioning of border checkpoints, was emphasized.
The importance of cooperation in transport and communication sphere, in particular, joint preparation for the organization of a pilot automobile traffic along the route “Tashkent – Andijan – Osh – Irkeshtam – Kashgar”, planned for the end of this month, was noted.
President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev expressed his deep gratitude to the President of our country Shavkat Mirziyoyev for sincere congratulations in connection with conduction of the presidential elections in the country.
He assured that the Kyrgyz side intends to further enhance multifaceted and mutually beneficial cooperation, strengthen relations of friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries.
