On the forthcoming state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to India

On September 30 – October 1, 2018, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the invitation of the President of the Republic of India Ram Nath Kovind, will pay a state visit to India.

At the meetings and negotiations with President Ram Nath Kovind, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders of India, it is planned to consider concrete ways of further deepening interstate cooperation, exchange views on key issues of the international and regional agenda.

The President of Uzbekistan will meet with heads of leading Indian companies in the city of New Delhi to discuss practical aspects of developing bilateral relations in trade-economic and investment fields, including proposals for establishment of Uzbekistan – India Business Council.

Within the framework of the visit, the delegation of Uzbekistan will also visit the ancient capital of India – the city of Agra, one of the universally recognized sights of which is the majestic Taj Mahal mausoleum.

Following the visit, it is planned to adopt a Joint Statement by the President of Uzbekistan and the Prime Minister of India, to sign intergovernmental and interdepartmental agreements, documents between the regions and institutions of the two countries that strengthen and develop the legal framework for bringing Uzbekistan – India relations to a qualitatively new level.
