Samarkand hosted an international conference on "Transparency of public authorities and management - important guarantee of the constitutional right of citizens to obtain information: experience of Uzbekistan".
Deputies of the Oliy Majlis, heads of information services of ministries and departments, periodicals, higher educational institutions’ representatives and experts from Britain, Germany, Greece, USA, Finland attended the forum.
The conference sessions were held in three subject areas:
1. The legislation of Uzbekistan in the field of transparency of public authorities and management: status and prospects for development;
2. Mechanisms to ensure transparency of public authorities and management;
3. Dialogue between media and state authorities and management.
