Over 50 Partnership Agreements are signed at the CIS Tourism Fair

Within the framework of the First CIS Tourism Fair in Samarkand, more than 50 agreements on partnership and further cooperation in tourism were signed between various organizations from the CIS countries.

The First CIS Tourism Fair is held at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on July 9-10, in Samarkand.

Among the signed documents are the Agreements on Partnership and Further Cooperation in Tourism between the Association of Private Tourism Agencies of Uzbekistan, the Armenian Tourism Federation and Belarusian Touristic Union, Hoteliers Association of Uzbekistan and Resorts Association of Kyrgyzstan, as well as many other tourism organizations of the CIS countries.

International Scientific Practical Workshop on “Tourism in the CIS countries and regional cooperation: new challenges and opportunities” was also held within the framework of the event. It brought together rectors and vice-rectors of leading tourism universities of the CIS countries.

One of the main issues on the agenda of the workshop became the proposal on introducing the project of the network university “Silk Road” and the exchange of students in leading higher education institutions of the CIS countries, which was supported by the participants of the workshop.

According to the Press Service of the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, following the event, Cooperation Agreements were signed between the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and various specialized higher education institutions from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Russia, Armenia, Belarus and Turkmenistan.
