Parliamentary diplomacy between Uzbekistan and Russia will be actively continued

Yesterday, the chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva held negotiations with the Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia, Valentina Matvienko, at the venue of the X BRICS Parliamentary Forum in St. Petersburg, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the information service of the upper house of Parliament, at the meeting, prospects for the development of interparliamentary relations and issues of further expansion of regional cooperation were discussed.

At the outset of the conversation, it was emphasized that relations between the leaders of the two countries are friendly, based on mutual trust, and the ties between the countries constitute a comprehensive strategic partnership.

During the dialogue, there was an exchange of views regarding enriching economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation with practical content.

The importance of actively utilizing parliamentary diplomacy to implement agreements and trade and economic projects between Uzbekistan and Russia, as well as to promote effective cooperation between the regions of both countries, was emphasized.

The parties agreed to actively continue cooperation within international inter-parliamentary organizations, particularly the CIS Inter-parliamentary Assembly and the Inter-parliamentary Union.
