PREMIERE OF PERFORMANCE "TUMARIS" TO TAKE PLACE ON 19 AUGUST IN TASHKENT

A new performance "Tumaris" was presented to the press in the Republican House of cinema. The members of «Theater Studio of film actors» under the National Agency «Uzbekkino» performed roles in the show. This Studio has become a kind of school for those filmmakers, who are not engaged in other projects.

The actors have showed the legendary victory of the Queen Tumaris over the Persian king Cyrus. The story is based on historical events described in the novel of Yavdat Ilyasov "Spotted death".

The leader of nomadic saka, the ancient inhabitants of Turan dies. Then the people elect his wife, a proud and wise Tumaris as a leader. At the same time, the Persian king Cyrus, who had been dreaming about the seizure of Central Asia, offers Tumaris to marry him. According to the ancient oriental custom, a foreign king, who marries to the local ruler, becomes the ruler of the country. That’s why Tumaris refuses to marry Cyrus. This was the cause of one of the most dramatic confrontations in history.

The Director did his best that the audience could take in the sights and events of that time, namely in 535 BC. Simple, yet memorable scenery were on display right on the steps at the entrance to the main hall of the Cinema house. The hall itself had a smell of eastern spices, with spears and animal skins hanging on the walls. It is noteworthy that during the performance the actors were not only on stage but in the auditorium as well.

— We wanted to show this performance in a small chamber hall, where the audience could enjoy the emotions of the actors clearly. Often in the historical performances, the actors either overact or just do a display of beautiful costumes. But we were able to walk away from this and create something real", - Director Sayfiddin Meliev said.

The big premiere of the play "Tumaris" will take place on 19 August in the Republican House of Cinema. The theatergoers of our capital city will soon have the opportunity to see a number of other performances of "Theater Studio of film actors".
