This was reported by the Press-Secretary of the President of Uzbekistan at a briefing on the results of the United States and Uzbekistan negotiations.
President Trump also applauded President Mirziyoyev’s ambitious reform program to improve the human rights situation in Uzbekistan, noting the release of prisoners of conscience, elimination of systematic child labor, and significant progress in reducing forced labor. The United States President encouraged President Mirziyoyev’s initiative to increase government transparency and accountability to the people of Uzbekistan as a fundamental aspect of good governance and domestic stability, and pledged United States assistance to promote English language education programs in Uzbekistan.
