President held a dialogue with residents of districts at the session of Jizzakh regional Kengash of people’s deputies

An extraordinary session of Jizzakh regional Kengash of people’s deputies was held in the Palace of culture “Manas” during the visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Jizzakh region.

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev delivered a speech at the session.

At the session, a dialogue with residents of districts with participation of heads of relevant ministries and departments, khokim of the region and districts was held through videoconferencing, tasks were set on addressing their concerns.

Important tasks on organization of new industrial enterprises in the region, continuation of reforming agriculture were defined. Specific measures are planned for development of fruit and vegetable growing through the reduction of cotton fields, organization of storage and processing enterprises, cultivation of export-oriented crops on rainfed lands, medicinal plants in foothill areas, development of livestock, and improvement of drinking water supply for the population.

An organizational issue was considered at the session. On the proposal of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the acting khokim of Jizzakh region, Ergash Saliyev, was confirmed as a khokim of Jizzakh region.
