President of the Republic of Uzbekistan receives the U.S. Ambassador

On September 24, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States Pamela Spratlen, completing her diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan.

The Head of the state, warmly welcoming the guest, noted significant personal contribution of the U.S. Ambassador to progressive development and strengthening multifaceted mutually beneficial Uzbekistan – American relations.

It was emphasized that regular contacts at the highest level and fruitful results of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the United States in May this year laid a solid foundation for a new era in friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries.

A constructive political dialogue has been established on the whole range of issues of mutual interest. Inter-parliamentary exchanges became more active.

Trade-economic cooperation is expanding. Interaction in science, education and culture is developing.

The U.S. Ambassador expressed deep gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for cordial welcome. It was noted that the United States attaches great importance to consistent development of bilateral relations and is determined to further deepen full-scale cooperation with Uzbekistan.

Following the meeting, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States Pamela Spratlen was awarded “Dustlik” (“Friendship”) order for her great contribution to strengthening strategic partnership between the two countries.
