President of Uzbekistan speaks with Kyrgyzstan's President over the phone

On April 29, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov over the phone.

The heads of state noted with deep satisfaction the steady positive trend of consistently expanding and strengthening the centuries-old friendship and good neighborliness between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, development of multifaceted cooperation in various fields.

The trade turnover and scale of industrial cooperation is growing dynamically, mutually beneficial interaction in energy, transport and agriculture is being carried out.

Meetings of the Council of Khokims of the Border Regions and the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Commission showed that there is enormous potential and determination for further expanding the partnership.

The importance of consistent implementation of previously reached agreements, full utilization of opportunities for interregional cooperation, as well as deepening cultural and humanitarian ties was emphasized.

The Presidents paid particular attention to the consideration of regional infrastructure projects. In particular, the importance and economic relevance of implementing the project on building China – Kyrgyzstan – Uzbekistan railway was noted.

The parties noted with satisfaction the mutual understanding between all the participants of this project and their readiness for further cooperation.

Views were exchanged on current issues of regional and international agenda.

In conclusion, the heads of state reaffirmed their determination to comprehensively develop mutually beneficial cooperation, strengthen traditional Uzbekistan – Kyrgyzstan friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership for the benefit and in the interests of the two fraternal peoples.
