President of Uzbekistan takes part in cultural events of ECO summit in the Azerbaijani city of Aghdam

In the framework of the 17th summit of Economic Cooperation Organization, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, accompanied by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited "Imaret" historical and architectural complex in the city of Aghdam today, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan, the heads of delegations of the countries – members of the Economic Cooperation Organization also arrived here.

The city of Aghdam is located in the west of Azerbaijan in Karabakh region. Since 2021 active restoration of urban infrastructure is underway: new schools, kindergartens, residential complexes, government buildings are build developed.

The "Imaret" complex houses the palace and mausoleum of Panah Alikhan, the founder of the Karabakh khanate. In 2024, the complex was opened after restoration works and archaeological research.

The Karabakh Horse Park and an interactive museum were created here.

The leaders got acquainted with the conditions and creative activities established in the complex. They were presented a colorful program "Zafar" ("Victory") with participation of Karabakh horses reflecting the rich culture and traditions of Karabakh region of Azerbaijan.
