President Shavkat Mirziyoev arrived today in Navoi region, to inspect the ongoing creative work, the process of reforms, major projects.
Currently, the region has 17 large industrial enterprises. These include the Navoi mining and metallurgical combine, joint stock company Navoiazot, Qizilqumcement, Navoi issiqlik elektr stantsiyasi and joint venture Elektrkimyozavodi. 18 enterprises effectively operate in the free economic zone Navoi. They produce over 100 kinds of competitive products.
In 2016, as a result of continued work on the socio-economic development of the region, the gross regional product amounted to 10 trillion 5 billion soums. Industrial production in comparison with 2015 grew 5.9%, in particular, territorial industrial production - 15.4%, consumer goods – 12%, the production of agricultural products - 7.1%, execution of construction works - 9.3%, retail trade turnover - 15.1%, the provision of common services - 15.5%.
866 new small businesses were created last year.
The head of state in his election program outlined big plans for the development of the Navoi region. During his visit in the region, he plans to inspect the process of those reforms.
