President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with military personnel President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the military unit of the South-West Special District on the second day of his visit to Surkhandarya region, where he got acquainted with execution of tasks determined at the meeting of the Security Council in an enlarged format and held conversation with military personnel. This was reported by the Press Service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The purpose of the recently adopted Defense doctrine adopted in the country is to increase the combat power of the national army, ensure tranquility of people, said the Head of our state. Uzbekistan’s foreign policy, further development of friendly and mutually beneficial relations with foreign countries, especially with neighboring states, strengthening independence and sovereignty of the state are indicated as priority principles in the doctrine.
Objectives and structures of the Armed Forces have been revised taking into account the peculiarity of geostrategic position of our country and the military-political situation formed in the region. State Committee on Defense Industry was formed. Activities of the Academy of the Armed Forces have been radically reorganized on the basis of systemic transformations in the sphere of training military personnel. Activity on providing troops with modern weapons, military and communications equipment is being carried out at a qualitatively new level.
Our military should be physically strong, have high spirituality and modern knowledge, said the President. You must serve as our great ancestors Amir Temur, Jaloliddin Manguberdi, be an example of patriotism and devotion to the Motherland for youth.
At the meeting, the need for improving living conditions of military personnel, intensifying activity on providing them with housing was noted. It was emphasized that for this purpose it is necessary to improve activities of military-administrative sectors established at places. All conditions will be created for military personnel and their families, said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
