17 September saw the VI Plenum of the Central Council of the People’s democratic party of Uzbekistan.
It was attended by members of the Central Council of PDP of Uzbekistan, members of the faction in the Legislative chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, heads of territorial party councils, party activists and representatives of mass media.
The agenda of plenary session included the participation of the party in the elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the nomination for the Presidency of the Republic of Uzbekistan from the People’s democratic party of Uzbekistan, convening of the X Kurultai of the People’s democratic party of Uzbekistan on 14 October, 2016 and its agenda, the quota in the Kurultai of the party and the order of their election.
The Plenum paid special attention to current challenges in the provision of decent participation of the party in the upcoming elections, using all rights and opportunities established for the parties, based on program goals and ideas of the party, interests of the electorate.
The participants thoroughly discussed the main issue on the agenda - the nomination of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from the People’s democratic party.
In this regard, the electorate, supporters and activists of the party supported the candidate of the Chairman of the Central Council of PDPU, the head of fraction Hotamjon Ketmonov for the Presidency of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The Plenary also discussed issues related to the convening of the X Kurultai of the PDPU and its agenda, and representative quotas for party Kurultai, the order of their election.
The participants of the plenary made a number of proposals on organizational and ideological orientation to ensure the effective conduct of the party election campaign.
In particular, the participants expressed proposals on efficient organization of the collection of voters ’ signatures, supporting the party’s participation in presidential elections, to provide all polling stations with the electoral program of the candidate of the party and other legislative literature.
The speakers drew particular attention to the effective organization of the activities of party organizations and activists during the election campaign, raising the quality and effectiveness of outreach activities, aimed at increasing public awareness on these important political processes in the country, with the full involvement of the legally-defined powers.
The participants of the Plenary made a number of proposals and recommendations on the selection of the authorized representatives, observers and trustees.
