On September 23, negotiations were held between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the United States Donald Trump. The meeting took place at the UN Headquarters on the sidelines of the 80th anniversary session of the UN General Assembly.
The leaders of the two countries held an in-depth discussion on current issues and priorities for further expanding the Uzbekistan – American strategic partnership.
An exchange of views also took place on pressing regional and global issues. The implementation of agreements reached following the telephone conversation on September 5 of this year was reviewed.
The President of Uzbekistan extended his sincere congratulations to President Donald Trump on his significant achievements in implementing domestic and foreign policy. His personal contribution and efforts toward the peaceful resolution of acute international and regional conflicts were especially noted.
In turn, the U.S. President once again expressed his support for the irreversible reforms being implemented in New Uzbekistan, aimed at modernizing the economy, improving the well-being of the population, and strengthening the country’s standing on the international stage.
The two sides, with deep satisfaction, noted the dynamic development of political dialogue and exchanges at various levels, as well as the intensification of business contacts.
The U.S. President highly praised the fruitful outcomes of the meetings and negotiations held by the Leader of Uzbekistan with the heads of more than 50 major American companies and banks the previous day.
A portfolio of contracts and prospective projects has been formed in civil aviation, mining, critical minerals, finance, innovation, chemicals, energy, and other priority sectors.
It was emphasized that these projects and agreements will create tens of thousands of new jobs in both countries.
Following the talks, the Leader of Uzbekistan invited President Donald Trump to pay an official visit to Uzbekistan at a convenient time.
The meeting between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and U.S. President Donald Trump was held in an open, constructive, and friendly atmosphere.
