Presidents visited the Ark fortress

The President of Turkey RecepTayyip Erdogan, accompanied by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, visited the regional museum of local lore Ark fortress in Bukhara.

Bukhara, located at an important crossroads of trade routes between the West and the East, has a rich and glorious past that indicates the way of life, creative potential, spirituality of our people, its socio-economic ties with other countries. Thousands of artifacts, archaeological finds, included in the collection of the regional museum of local lore, operating in the fortress of Ark, also tell about it.

The heads of states got acquainted with activities of the museum, inspected unique exhibits.

In the past, Bukhara played an important role in the region as a center for trade, culture and politics. The Ark served as a residence where the rulers received foreign ambassadors.

The Presidents visited the cathedral mosque on the territory of the museum-reserve. In the throne hall, preserved in the center of the fortress, artists from the region performed national songs praising friendship of people.
