Private sector share in GDP achieved 82.9% in 2014

In 2014, the share of private sector in Uzbek GDP achieved 82.9%, while the share of the public sector was 17.1%.

According to preliminary data, the volume of GDP of Uzbekistan achieved the level of 144.9 billion soums in 2013 at current prices, a 8.1-percent growth compared with 2013.

The share of the private sector in the manufacturing sector was 93.2%. The share of the private sector in agricultural production achieved the level of 99.9%. The private sector prevails in construction (90.7%), retail (99.8%), services (84.8%) and foreign trade (88.1%). Transport is the only sector where the state controls the major share (65.1%) of the market.
