Tashkent hosted an international conference on the “Action Strategy and strong social policy: international practice and experience of Uzbekistan”.

It was attended by representatives of international organizations in the sphere of trade unions, scientists and experts from more than 30 countries, heads of diplomatic corps and missions of international organizations accredited in Uzbekistan, trade union specialists, lawyers, and mass media workers.
In a video message of the International Labor Organization Director-General Guy Ryder to participants of the conference noted that rapid reforms in Uzbekistan are of great interest to the international community. Evidence of this became the speech of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly. Today Uzbekistan closely cooperates with the International Labor Organization and has one of the leading positions in the world in this sphere.

The conference was held in sessions on progressive increase in the level of employment and real incomes of the population, improvement of the state system of social protection and public health protection, enhancement of women’s socio-political activity, quality of the population’s life, implementation of targeted programs on construction of affordable houses, development and modernization of road transport, engineering and communication, social infrastructure, state youth policy in the field of education and science, national and international experience.
Within the framework of the international conference, foreign experts visited Tashkent and Samarkand regions to get a real picture of socio-economic situation in Uzbekistan, the state of affairs in the sphere of healthcare, education, affordable houses, working conditions at places, interaction of state bodies, trade unions and employers. At social sphere institutions, they became closely acquainted with benefits and opportunities for citizens, conditions for workers, practical work on strengthening social security of workers as a result of partnership of state bodies, trade unions and employers.

The conference was attended by the State Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on youth policy issues – chairman of the Central Council of the Union of Youth of Uzbekistan K.Kuranbayev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan K.Akmalov.
