This year the 55th anniversary of the founding of the Directorate of art exhibitions is celebrated.

This specialized museum institution has an extensive stationary and mobile exhibition practices in close collaboration with the museums and galleries of Uzbekistan and many other countries. This year the anniversary date is celebrated, the staff of the Directorate of exhibitions planned several retrospective exhibitions from its collection, reports IA UzReport.

One of them is a painting of masters of Uzbekistan of 1930-1970-ies, which is represented in the Central Exhibition Hall of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan.

The basis for the implementation of this important mission is a stock collection of the Directorate of art exhibitions. The collection, which is originally consisted of a dozen works from the collection of the State Art Museum of Uzbekistan, today has more than 15,000 works of all kinds of contemporary fine and folk arts and crafts. This is one of the country’s largest collections of historical art of XX century.

The opened exhibition features over 250 works - genre scenes, landscapes, portraits, still lifes, sketches. The audience had a unique opportunity to see the paintings, which for half a century art represented our country in many exhibitions.

Among them are works by artists of the older generation - classics of Arts of Uzbekistan, such as Benkov, Z. Kovalevskaya, N. Karahan, N. Kashin Tansykbaev W., M. Arinin, Abdullaev, L. Abdullaev, M. Gagloeva Snegireva- are presented.

- Remarkable works are exhibited here. This is the vanguard of artists, and artists of the second plan, as they are called, but they are all great professionals. Maybe they are not as well-known and their names are not on everyone’s lips, but they are no less interesting and exhibition confirms this- says Lyudmila Kodzaeva arts critic.

Organizers called the works "the working people", because they were shown almost everywhere. For example, "Baysun Madonna" by Vladimir Burmakin was presented three times at the Paris exhibition.

- This is an original portrait of a woman, a mother who at 23, already has five children. This work has traveled halfway around the world. It is gratifying that I was able to create a picture that for many years is popular not only in our country but also abroad. And all because here captured the image of a woman and mother, who has always been a topic for artists around the world - said the people’s Artist of Uzbekistan Vladimir Burmakin.

Looking at these paintings, visitors are as if talking to past epochs. On almost every picture people of different ages and nationalities are depicted, they are supposed to tell the story of their own life. That is why this exhibition also gives a kind of lesson to the next generation of artists. The exhibition will appeal to both residents and guests of our capital because not all of the works are priceless heritage milestones in the history of Russian art school and professional skills.
