Assistant professor of "Applied Political Science" department at Financial University under the Government of Russian Federation, Doctor of Political Sciences, Yevgeniya Makhmutova in an interview with Information Agency "Jahon" in Moscow shared her views and assessments on the current system of education in our country:
— I have repeatedly visited Uzbekistan and I am familiar with its modern development. As a pedagogue, first of all, I am interested in the education sector and reforms carried out in it. According to the results of my observations I would point out that the conversion proved its worth and effectiveness. It is gratifying that this area is a dynamic and rapidly changing with the spirit of the time.
However, economy of Uzbekistan is developing rapidly, production facilities are regularly updated. This creates higher demands on the intellectual preparation of future workers. Among them - knowledge of the laws of the market and the ability to predict the consequences of economic decisions, effectively maneuver in the flow of financial and economic information.
Uzbekistan was one of the few post-Soviet space countries, where the transition to new market relations were of evolutionary character. I am sure that this unique experience especially in demand of economists and financiers of the world.
Technical equipment of country’s educational institutions, which I was able to visit, is at high level. Everything impressed me - a solid library fund, large computer rooms, extensive use of information technology, created opportunities for self-education and creativity.
It is also important to ensure that education is not just consistent with current requirements - education should be ready for the future challenges, which current students have to run. Today, higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan cope successfully with this task.
Since independence, the education system has taken a big leap forward. There are more than a dozen new schools, the relevant requests of the national economy and integrate into the international educational processes. Rapid progress has been such areas as oil and gas, engineering, information technology, medicine.
I would especially like to acknowledge the dedication and sincere interest in subject, student, individual approach and practical orientation given by knowledge, openness to innovation in the field of knowledge on the part of teachers and trainers of Uzbekistan, with whom I have had the opportunity to communicate.
