Berlin hosted the International Tournament “Sambo Germaniade 2015”, during which the Uzbek athletes won 5 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals.

Member of organizing committee of “Sambo Germaniade 2015” tournament André Barth:
— I am very pleased to welcome all the athletes and fans of your country in Berlin. This year, the strongest wrestlers from 10 countries of the world are gathered, including Uzbekistan, which is represented by 18 participants. I want to emphasize that the Uzbek athletes were very successful in these competitions.
High results indicate a great attention, paid to the development of sports in your country. The conquered prizes and medals are a good gift to the Constitution Day.
I take this opportunity to congratulate all the citizens of the republic on the upcoming holiday and wish them happiness, health, prosperity and further success in sports arenas of the world!
Chairman of Sambo Federation of Uzbekistan, Ravshan Akhmedjanov:
— Our wrestlers defend the honor of Uzbekistan at international tournaments last years. Recently, they have successfully participated in the world championship in Morocco and they have won 1 gold and 6 bronze medals. Undoubtedly, these successes are the result of conducting wide-range and consistent measures for the development of sport, education of harmoniously developed rising generation under the leadership of President Islam Karimov.
“Sambo Germaniade” has been held for more than 10 years. As a part of our team all weight categories and age groups are presented.
The Berlin tournament is preparatory competition for the Uzbek athletes for the upcoming world championship. In addition, it promotes the exchange of experience in the sport, new partnerships with foreign organizations.
We are pleased with the results of our athletes’ performances in Germany, who clearly demonstrated their skills. We hope that they will perform adequately in other major competitions, and even more raise the authority of Uzbekistan in the world.
