According to the U.S. Embassy in Tashkent, the newly established U.S.-Uzbekistan Business and Investment Council will be co-chaired on the U.S. side by the U.S. Special Envoy to South and Central Asia, Ambassador Sergio Gor.

The Council will prioritize expanding investment and export opportunities between the United States and Uzbekistan, developing high-growth sectors for the application of U.S. technologies and expertise, particularly in IT and digital innovation, and fostering a fair and competitive environment for U.S. exporters.

According to the decree signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the following issues submitted for consideration by the Council have been identified as priority areas for further development:

(a) coordinating the development and approval of strategic business initiatives and significant investment and trade projects, as well as ensuring continuous monitoring of their implementation;

(c) continuing negotiations on the mutual reduction of tariff rates;

(d) systematically promoting the products and services of companies that are residents of the IT Park;
