SHAVKAT MIRZIYOEV REVIEWS PROJECT FOR EXPANSION OF NAVOI TPP

President Shavkat Mirziyoev reviewed the project for expansion of Navoi TPP.

The construction of the second steam-gas unit with the capacity of 450 MW will provide Navoi mining and metallurgical combine, the joint stock company Navoiazot and consumers of agricultural industry with uninterrupted electricity supply.

The project will decrease the consumption of conditional fuel to 1 kWh of electricity, which would allow saving an average 330 million cubic meters of natural gas per year.

In October 2016, the Japanese consortium Mitsubishi Corporation and MHPS and the Navoi thermal power plant signed an agreement on implementation of this project. A preparatory work is currently carried out by Mitsubishi Corporation and MHPS at the construction site.

It provides the creation of 112 jobs.
