Shavkat Mirziyoyev: Best qualities of our people are even stronger today

On April 22, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the beginning of the videoconference on employment, again focused on the activities carried out in the country to counteract coronavirus infection. In particular, the Head of the state noted:

– All of us are encouraged by the fact that 424 patients have recovered in Uzbekistan so far and transferred to rehabilitation.

Once again, I’m grateful to our compatriots who adequately perceive the situation, follow quarantine rules and support taken measures.

Taking this opportunity, I express my gratitude to our dedicated doctors who are fighting the pandemic day and night and who are showing true heroism, as well as to employees of the Ministries of Internal Affairs, Emergency Situations, Defense, as well as the National Guard who serve alongside them.

Dear friends!

At the videoconference held on April 20, we determined the measures for a quick return to normal life and gradual easing of quarantine regime in Uzbekistan in full compliance with international and national requirements.

Currently, activities of industrial enterprises, construction sites, farms and clusters are gradually being established in the regions that are free of virus, strictly observing sanitary and epidemiological standards.

I am grateful to our dehkans and farmers, managers and employees of clusters, who are working hard today in the fields and homestead lands, without losing a minute of their precious time.

Of course, we will not stop fighting the coronavirus pandemic even for a moment. This is an extremely important issue related to health and life of our population.

At the same time, we must resolve urgent issues without delay, such as providing 34-million people with food and other necessities, preventing the reduction of citizens’ incomes and supporting compatriots in need of assistance.

Leading sectors of our economy must work stably to do this. Obviously, it is necessary to simultaneously solve a number of complex tasks.

All of us are certainly happy that our people and public have enthusiastically accepted the formation of the Nationwide Movement “Kindness and Support” in order to provide targeted assistance to needy segments of the population in these difficult times.

Opinions and sincere comments expressed on television, newspapers and social networks by our esteemed citizens, respected scientists, religious figures, representatives of culture and art, business community and young people show that this noble initiative comes from the very heart of our people.

These sincere opinions show that in difficult times, when people are faced with trouble, best human qualities, such as readiness to support and help, attention and care, have been inherent in us since ancient times are now becoming even stronger.

There is a deep meaning in the words of the great poet and thinker Alisher Navoi: “A generous person is under the shadow of paradise trees”.

I want to remind all our compatriots, selfless entrepreneurs who sincerely support this initiative and make a worthy contribution to this good deed, the statement from the Holy books: “The reward of goodness is nothing but goodness”.

A good deed of all entrepreneurs and farmers, representatives of economic associations, ministries, agencies and organizations, extending assistance to families in need and low-income people with care and respect, will receive a hundredfold reward.

Let me stress that the state and society, in turn, will fully support generous entrepreneurs.

They will not be burdened with anything.

For this reason, I am confident that “Kindness and Support” Nationwide Movement, demonstrating the unity of our state and people, its power, will take its rightful place on the pages of our new history.

Holy month of Ramadan is coming soon.

I sincerely and heartily congratulate our fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters, our faithful people on this bright holiday!

I wish you all peace and tranquility, family happiness and prosperity!

I hope that, despite the current difficulties, Ramadan, as always, will fill our homes and hearts with joy, give abundance and prosperity to our country and further strengthen the sense of compassion.

Taking this opportunity, on behalf of myself and our people, I sincerely congratulate our Muslim brothers in the near and far countries, wish them peace and prosperity.

Good wishes in Ramadan come true by the grace of Almighty Allah.

All of us, through roza (fasting), sincere prayers and good deeds, in this holy month, ask Allah to save us and all the countries of the world from this adversity.
