SITORA HAMIDOVA WINS OLYMPIC LICENSE

Sitora Hamidova from Surkhandarya region, worthily defending the honor of our country at an international tournament in athletics in Poland, has won the license for this year’s World Championship, which will be held in China, and XXXI summer Olympic Games 2016 in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).

In this regard, the representatives of state and public organizations, as well as her relatives solemnly met Sitora Hamidova at Termez railway station.

During the meeting, it was noted that a constant attention paid under the leadership of our country’s President to the development of sports and the construction of modern buildings of children’s sports tempers our youth, strengthens their self-confidence and enhances the love for the Motherland.

The three-tier sporting competitions “Umid Nihollari”, “Barkamol Avlod” and the Universiade traditionally held on the initiative of our head of state, serves as a unique school of experience and skill for our young athletes who then successfully participate in prestigious international tournaments.

In the years of independence, 124 modern facilities for children’s sports were constructed, reconstructed and fully equipped in Surkhandarya region. Currently, about 45 thousand boys and girls are regularly engaged in more than 30 sports. Like other sports, athletics is also developing dynamically, which is an important factor in the success of the youth of the region in various competitions.

The presidential resolution on the preparation of athletes of Uzbekistan for the XXXI summer Olympic & XV Paralympics 2016 in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) from 25 February 2013 serves as an important guide to action in the careful preparation and proper performance of our athletes at the tournaments of world and continental scale.

The success of Sitora Hamidova is a prominent example for this. The athlete involved in athletics since the age of 14, graduating from the comprehensive school number 6 in Termez, entered in Termez College of Olympic reserve. In 2012, she successfully graduated from the faculty of physical culture of the Termez state University.

“Over the years she won in “Umid Nihollari”, “Barkamol avlod” and the Universiade games,” said Executive Director of the Athletics Federation of the region Bahrom Hamroyev. “She became the champion of Uzbekistan for several times.”

Currently, Sitora teaches youth in athletics at youth sports school of Termez.

“Standing next to the strongest athletes of the world, I felt the support of our compatriots,” says Sitora Hamidova. “Our victories are the result of a wide range of conditions and opportunities created for young people under the leadership of President.”

Hokim of Surkhandarya region T.Mamaraimov made a speech in the event.
