Sustained export growth positions Uzbekistan as Central Asia's emerging trade hub

According to the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics, Uzbekistan’s export volume within the foreign trade turnover reached an impressive 23 billion US dollars during the period from January to August 2025

This marks a significant 31.3% increase compared to the same period last year, underscoring the dynamic growth of Uzbekistan’s international trade and its deepening economic ties across multiple regions.

This robust export expansion reflects the country’s strategic commitment to fostering diversified and sustainable trade relations as part of its broader economic development agenda.

The following countries represented the largest recipients of Uzbekistan’s exports during this period, demonstrating the strength and breadth of the nation’s foreign trade partnerships (figures rounded to the nearest

million USD):

1. Russian Federation — 2.9 billion USD

2. People’s Republic of China — 1.2 billion USD

3. Republic of Kazakhstan — 910.8 million USD

4. Islamic Republic of Afghanistan — 881.6 million USD

5. Republic of Turkey — 736.4 million USD

6. French Republic — 618.6 million USD

7. United Arab Emirates — 493.6 million USD

8. Kyrgyz Republic — 371.3 million USD

9. Republic of Tajikistan — 338 million USD

10. Islamic Republic of Pakistan — 267.9 million USD

The list illustrates Uzbekistan’s expanding presence in both regional markets—particularly within Central Asia—and key global economies. The diverse portfolio of export partners reinforces Uzbekistan’s role as a vital trade hub linking East and West.

This marked increase in exports aligns with Uzbekistan’s ongoing reforms aimed at enhancing economic competitiveness, improving infrastructure, and facilitating smoother international trade logistics. The government’s proactive engagement with multilateral organizations and regional alliances continues to create favorable conditions for sustained trade growth.

Furthermore, the strengthened bilateral economic relations with countries such as Russia, China, Kazakhstan, and others reflect a shared vision for regional integration and mutual prosperity. Uzbekistan’s export trajectory is poised to contribute significantly to national socio-economic development and to the stability and cooperation within the broader Eurasian region
