SYMBIOSIS OF MODERN MECHANISMS OF PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN NGOS AND TRADITIONAL INSTITUTIONS OF CIVIL SOCIETY YIELDS PRACTICAL RESULTS

Director of the British NGO The Haven Wolverhampton, Kate Reese stated about this in an interview with our information agency.

— At present, the institutions of civil society in Uzbekistan, and Britain carried out effective cooperation. In particular, a number of initiatives to enhance the role of women in socio-political and socio-economic development, to expand entrepreneurship and family business has been implemented, - she said. - Special attention is paid to cooperation with citizens’ bodies of self-government, including mahalla committees. This symbiosis of modern mechanisms of international partnerships between NGOs and traditional institutions of civil society yields tangible practical results in Uzbekistan.

With years of experience in your country, we can certainly note the high involvement of women in political and public life of the country. I participated as an observer in the parliamentary elections in Uzbekistan in 2014 and highly appreciate the established 30% quota for women candidates for deputies. This step once again testifies attention to this part of society paid by leadership of Uzbekistan, which is striving to increase their role, that meets all the requirements of building a democratic state.
