The 151st Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) is being held in Geneva, with Tanzila Narbayeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, participating in the event.
– As part of the Assembly, we took part in the Forum of Women Parliamentarians, – said Ms. Narbayeva. – The event focused on global issues aimed at enhancing the political, social, and economic participation of women”.
Participants of the forum praised the high level of organization of the 150th anniversary Assembly of the IPU, held in Tashkent in April this year, and acknowledged the special role of the Forum of Women Parliamentarians conducted within that Assembly, as well as the historic significance of the Tashkent Declaration adopted during the event.
The current forum emphasized the voices, aspirations, and solidarity of women across the world. It was noted that Uzbekistan promotes a comprehensive approach aimed at realizing women’s potential. The discussions also included initiatives to strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation and provide practical support for women in crises.
Supporting women and strengthening their role in society is not only a national priority, but also a strategic goal on the path toward human progress and global peace.
