On February 14, 2017, there was taken place a telephone conversation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev with the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The head of our state congratulated Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on his convincing victory in the general elections of the President of Turkmenistan and wished him great success in the highest state office.
It was emphasized that the election results were another clear indication of high confidence and full support of the Turkmen people for deeply thought-out socio-political and socio-economic reforms aimed at ensuring the growth of people’s well-being, dynamic development and prosperity of the country.
During the meeting, the heads of state discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on key aspects of regional and international politics. It was highlighted an active advancement of the foreign policy course of Turkmenistan and the successful implementation of G. Berdimuhamedov’s initiatives in the international arena.
The Presidents expressed satisfaction with the significant intensification of bilateral relations at various levels and broadening of mutually beneficial cooperation. The sides positively assessed the results of the exchange of working visits of high government delegations of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, as well as cooperation at the regional level between the two countries.
The Heads of State confirmed mutual interest in the dynamic development of constructive and open dialogue between the two brotherly countries and expressed their willingness to set a significant potential in the motion for building-up fruitful relations in trade, economy, transport and communication, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
At the end of the conversation Shavkat Mirziyoev expressed to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wishes of good health, happiness and new successes in his responsible state activities, and to the people of Turkmenistan - peace and prosperity.
The conversation was conducted in a traditionally warm and friendly atmosphere which is inherent in the dialogue between the leaders of our countries.
