TELEPHONE NUMBERING WILL CHANGE TO 9-DIGIT

This decision was made in accordance with the recommendations of the International telecommunication Union and the requirements of the "System and plan of numeration of telecommunication networks of Uzbekistan", which was developed by the Ministry for development of information technologies and communications. This was reported by the press service of the company "Uzbektelecom".

In 2018 the numbers will get longer by two additional numbers – which before we had not dialed – this is the region code. Thereby the dialing process of intercity numbers will be simplified.

The transition from 7-digit to 9-digit is a requirement of time. It is because the number range for mobile operators is almost exhausted, and the demand for communication services is growing every day," is noted in the report.
