Bukhara has been included in the “52 Places to Go in 2025” guide, published by the American newspaper “The New York Times”.
The guide highlights the inaugural Bukhara Biennial, scheduled to take place from September 5 to November 20, 2025, in the historic district of Bukhara. This event, dedicated to contemporary art, will feature participation from both international and Uzbekistan artists.
It is reported that Bukhara is a UNESCO World Heritage site, for its artisans, poets, and Sufi heritage. The biennial will showcase works by a range of noted global artists, including the British sculptor Antony Gormley, the Egyptian American culinary artist Laila Gohar, and the avant-garde Indian performer Himali Singh Soin.
The guide’s authors emphasize that traveling in Uzbekistan has become more convenient than ever, thanks to the launch of two national airlines, Silk Avia and Air Samarkand, in the past year.
