Uzbekistan is one of the founding countries of the SCO. Eight states – India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan – are full members of the organization, established in 2001.
Over the past 20 years, the organization has developed into an authoritative international structure. The SCO today is a space that unites almost half of the world’s population and a huge consumer market with rich natural resources and advanced technologies.
Uzbekistan considers the SCO as an important tool for the development of multilateral mutually beneficial trade, economic, transport, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, as well as interaction in countering regional threats and transnational crime.
Uzbekistan takes an active part in the activities of the organization. The initiatives of the President of Uzbekistan serve to enhance and strengthen cooperation within the SCO.
The President of Uzbekistan will hold meetings with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ebrahim Raisi and Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Imran Khan.
