The President of Uzbekistan emphasizes the importance of expanding inter-parliamentary dialogue with the United States

As part of his participation in the events of the anniversary session of the UN General Assembly on September 24, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received U.S. Congressman Trent Kelly, Co-Chair of the Caucus on Uzbekistan in the House of Representatives, and Major General Bobby Ginn, Commanding General of the Mississippi Army and Air National Guard, at his residence.

The issues of expanding strategic partnership, including strengthening inter-parliamentary dialogue between Uzbekistan and the United States, were discussed.

The dynamic development of inter-parliamentary contacts and exchanges was noted with satisfaction. Representatives of the U.S. Congress regularly visit Uzbekistan. The Caucus on Uzbekistan is actively functioning, with its membership continuing to expand. Annual Uzbekistan Days are held in Congress, contributing to the strengthening of cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.

High appreciation was expressed for the trade, economic, and cultural-humanitarian ties with the state of Mississippi.

The importance of Congressional support for enhancing the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the United States, as well as for the practical implementation of agreements reached at the highest level, was emphasized.

Following the meeting, it was agreed to organize, in the near future, visits to Uzbekistan by a Congressional delegation and a business mission from the state of Mississippi.
