Following his working visit to the United States, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with compatriots working and residing in the country, as well as scholarship holders from the “El-Yurt Umidi” Foundation studying at leading American universities.
During the sincere conversation, held in an informal setting, issues related to the implementation of reforms in New Uzbekistan were discussed, particularly the contribution of compatriots and diaspora organizations to their active promotion.
The meeting also marked the launch of the International Business Marathon of Compatriots, aimed at creating a platform for dialogue between young people and successful compatriot entrepreneurs.
Participants shared their proposals for expanding and strengthening trade, economic, investment, scientific, and educational ties between Uzbekistan and the United States. These proposals included introducing advanced American technologies into priority sectors of the national economy, promoting innovations in medicine, transportation, and logistics, and developing marketplaces in Uzbekistan.
Expressing gratitude to compatriots for their contributions to the development of the Homeland, the Head of State emphasized that the country’s ministries and agencies would carefully study all proposals and initiatives voiced, and the most promising ones would be practically implemented.
The President of Uzbekistan paid special attention to the “El-Yurt Umidi” scholarship holders, whose number in the United States already exceeds 500. The President stressed that supporting talented youth and creating opportunities for them to apply their knowledge and experience in the country are among the key priorities of national policy.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev wished the students success in their studies and future professional activities, noting that the state is always open to youth initiatives and ready to provide them with all the necessary support.
In turn, the meeting participants expressed their gratitude to the Leader of Uzbekistan for his attention to the diaspora and the younger generation, as well as for the conditions and opportunities created to unlock the potential of the youth. They also assured their readiness to contribute even more to the prosperity of the Homeland.
